Nizhum Rahman Co-Founder, Chief Executive Officer and Secretary Global Community Organization (GCO), Bangladesh Nizhum Rahman is a Co-Founder, Chief Executive Officer and Secretary of Global Community Organization (GCO), Bangladesh. As one of its founding members, he has been involved with GCO since its establishment in 2008 and has contributed to its mission, organizational development, and long-term direction. As Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Rahman provides executive leadership for GCO’s programs, operations, partnerships, and institutional development. He oversees strategic planning, project development and implementation, funding and partnership opportunities, monitoring and evaluation, and collaboration with national and international partners. As Secretary, he also supports organizational governance, communication, documentation, and coordination among GCO’s leadership, project teams, volunteers, and partners. His work with GCO spans maternal and child health, nutrition, environmental sustainability, climate resilience, education, food security, and community empowerment. GCO’s health initiatives support pregnant and lactating women, mothers, newborns, children, and vulnerable families through health services, nutritional assistance, counseling, hygiene awareness, and preventive healthcare. Dr. Rahman has also supported GCO’s environmental initiatives, including One Tree for One Child, One Tree for One Student, community and school-based tree planting, fruit-garden development, and environmental awareness programs. These initiatives connect environmental restoration with nutrition, livelihoods, women’s participation, and community resilience. He remains committed to strengthening GCO’s institutional capacity, expanding partnerships, developing sustainable community-based projects, and promoting the use of research, data, and evidence to improve the health, well-being, environment, and opportunities of vulnerable communities in Bangladesh.
