The Challenge & Our Response

A meal today, self-reliance for a lifetime.

Hunger in Bangladesh is rarely about a single missed meal. It is tangled with poverty, isolation, disaster and lost livelihoods — and it falls hardest on the elderly and the landless poor.

GCO responds on two fronts: immediate, dignified relief for those in crisis, and long-term programs — home gardens, skills and cooperative villages — that let families grow their own way out of hunger.

  • Emergency relief that protects dignity, not just calories
  • Home fruit-and-vegetable gardens for year-round nutrition
  • Livelihoods and cooperatives that outlast any single donation

Our Food-Security Programs

Three paths out of hunger

From an elder's next meal to a village's shared harvest — each program meets a different face of food insecurity.

Addressing Hunger Among the Elderly
